General Tips – Speeches For Weddings
The most important aspect of speeches for weddings, any wedding speech – be it by the best man, groom, or drunken guest – is to be sincere.
Unless it is a very formal affair, speeches for weddings should appear to be impromptu. This does not mean that it should be unprepared. Preparation for informal weddings is just as important as for any other occasion.
Match your speech to your audience’s needs. Keep it short, simple and entertaining. Do not bore your guests with “witty” offensive jokes. Avoid humor if you are not comfortable with it. You can still be entertaining. Any jokes or quotes used should be spontaneous and not forced.
Speeches for weddings that entertain mostly focus on experiences that the speaker shares with the guests and groom or bride. These speeches are the most successful when the speaker relates anecdotes that help the audience tap into common events. Make sure though, not to embarrass the groom, the bride or any of the family and friends.
Speeches for weddings needs to be short and is normally followed by a toast to the bride and groom, or parents or whichever toast you were asked to give. A humorous toast is always appreciated as long as you keep good taste in mind.
