Humorous Best Man Toasts
Humorous Best Man Toasts
Humorous Best Man Toasts can contribute to the festive mood of a wedding reception. Be cautious though, it is not as easy as it may sound. Delivering a funny best man speech and ending with a humorous best man toast needs to be done very carefully. The line between a good humorous best man toast and bad taste is very fine. Humorous best man toasts must never embarrass or insult. You also have to keep in mind that some of the guests are probably older and more conservative and you have to make very sure not to offend.
To start with here are a few do’s and don’ts I have come across and that I think is very appropriate:
- Do keep it personal but, make very sure that you don’t make it embarrassing.
- Do make a joke or two if you want to but, keep good taste in mind and don’t make it so funny that the bride and groom won’t be laughing.
- Do take the time to say what you want to say but, keep time in mind and don’t talk just for the sake of talking. Make sure that, at all costs, you don’t upstage the bride and groom
- Do thank the people who helped make the day possible, especially the parents of the bride and groom but please, don’t forget their names
- Do try to relax before you get up to speak but at all cost keep sober, don’t drink so much that you can’t keep your composure.
- Do keep your audience in mind; don’t give a speech only some can understand.
- Do make sure you compliment the bride, don’t embarrass the groom.
