If you have to give a wedding toast, you are probably looking for Toast To Wedding Tips. Here are seven excellent Toast To Wedding Tips to help you with your wedding toast.

1. Do not take a drink to calm your nerves:

If you think a quick drink before you have to give your toast, will calm your nerves, you had better think again! Alcohol will not only remove some of your inhibitions, but it will also remove your good judgment and may also prevent you from speaking clearly. A slurred wedding speech may be the result, to your embarrassment.

2. Make sure your stories of the bride and groom are not embarrassing At All!!

You have to be very sure that your stories about the bride and groom are one hundred percent PG and not an embarrassment to anyone. Putting them on the spot with a little mild teasing is one thing, but humiliating them in front of their friends and family is totally unacceptable. It is their happiest day of their lives, do not spoil it by inappropriate stories.

3. The correct use of humor;

Humor is always a good ice-breaker. A laugh relaxes your audience, and you. You immediately relax them and warm them to whatever follows. Humor can be tricky though, and there is a very fine line between good humor and bad taste. You have to be sensitive and make sure you do not say anything that can be offensive to any of the guests. Keep in mind that there will be children and older people at the wedding. If you can not tell the joke to your mother, it is not appropriate!

4. How to handle the drink:

A critical part of every toast is the drink. The drink does not have to be an alcoholic beverage, though most do prefer champagne, it can also be a soft drink. Make sure that you alert the master of ceremonies and the catering staff to ensure that the guests glasses are filled for the toast.

5. Make sure beforehand that there will be a surface to place your notes and your toasting glass.

You do not need the extra stress of juggling your notes, the microphone and your toasting glass.

6. Be natural

Unless you are a naturally dramatic person and completely comfortable speaking in front of people, please do not try to be flamboyant. Speak in a natural voice and do not use any unnatural gestures.

7. A tip for the person being toasted:

Etiquette states that the person being toasted should not raise his or her glass or drink from it during the toast itself. Once everyone else has taken a sip, the person being toasted may then take a sip as well. Often a person being toasted immediately counters with a toast of his or her own taking a sip after he or she has finished.

Keep these Toast To Wedding Tips in mind when you are preparing your toast. By doing so you will make sure you do not embarrass yourself or any other party at the wedding.
